Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6

As a member of partnership for prevention, you have a voice in shaping national prevention policy. Partnership's members include businesses, public health and healthcare associations, advocacy organizations, health plans, and state and local departments of health. These organizations share a commitment to prevention and seek to advance the use of evidence-based prevention in policy and practice. Partnership and its more than 100 members work closely with federal agencies, congress, public health organizations, health professional organizations and academic institutions to develop and advance prevention initiatives.

The committee used salary studies such as asae's greater washington area association compensation & benefits study (2010-2011). The decision regarding compensation was documented in the meeting minutes. Compensation decisions for all other employees are done by the president. The last compensation review process took place in january, 2010 and occurs annually.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Financial accounting standards board accounting standards codification topic 740, income taxes, (fasb asc 740) addresses the determination of whether tax benefits claimed or expected to be claimed on a tax return should be recorded in the financial statements. Under that guidance, the partnership may recognize the tax benefit from an uncertain tax position only if it is more likely than not that the tax position will be sustained on examination by taxing authorities based on the technical merits of the position. Examples of tax positions include the tax-exempt status of the partnership and various positions related to the potential sources of unrelated business income tax (ubit). For the year ended december 31, 2014, the partnership has documented its consideration of fasb asc 740 and determined that no material uncertain tax positions require either recognition or disclosure of unrecognized tax benefits in the partnership's financial statements. The partnership's policy would be to recognize interest and penalties, if any, on tax positions related to its unrecognized tax benefits in income tax expense in the financial statements. No interest and penalties were assessed or recorded during the year ended december 31, 2014.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0BAYER ASPIRIN PROJECT - PROMOTING ASPIRIN USE TO PREVENT CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE - IN ITS LANDMARK STUDY RANKING THE VALUE OF CLINICAL PREVENTIVE SERVICES, PARTNERSHIP FOR PREVENTION FOUND THAT COUNSELING ABOUT REGULAR ASPIRIN USE IS ONE OF THE HIGHEST VALUE PREVENTIVE SERVICES CLINICIANS CAN PROVIDE. CURRENTLY, LESS THAN HALF OF ALL ADULTS FOR WHOM ASPIRIN IS RECOMMENDED TAKE ASPIRIN ON A REGULAR BASIS. IF THIS WAS INCREASED TO 90 PERCENT, AN ADDITIONAL 45,000 LIVES WOULD BE SAVED EACH YEAR. IN ADDITION, WIDESPREAD COUNSELING ABOUT ASPIRIN USE WOULD RESULT IN MEDICAL SAVINGS OF $70 PER PERSON ADVISED. PARTNERSHIP FOR PREVENTION HAS UNDERTAKEN A MULTI-PRONGED INITIATIVE TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF AMERICANS WHO ARE USING ASPIRIN TO REDUCE THEIR RISK OF HEART DISEASE AND STROKE.

IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING STANDARDS BOARD ACCOUNTING STANDARDS CODIFICATION TOPIC 740, INCOME TAXES, (FASB ASC 740) ADDRESSES THE DETERMINATION OF WHETHER TAX BENEFITS CLAIMED OR EXPECTED TO BE CLAIMED ON A TAX RETURN SHOULD BE RECORDED IN THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS.
