“The purpose of the san jose fire museum is to acquire, restore, catalogue, preserve and display historic fire apparatus, tools and equipment and memoribilia and to educate the public on the history of the san jose fire department. In doing so we will provide fire safety education to the public, assist the san jose fire department, the chief and the city of san jose to display items of historical interest to the community and accurately reflect our rich and diverse history.”

“Administrative -started the updating of the strategic plan -completed new mission and core value statements -completed the updating of the by laws -signed a new lease extension with the fire fighters union antique acquisition, restoration and display -completed the rebuilding of a 1937 american lafrance fire engine -continued work on the restoration of a 1954 gmc fire engine -providing safe keeping for a 12' tall bronze fire fighter statue gifted to the sjfd facility improvements -painted the exterior of old fire station 1 -started the installation of a security camera system at the museum warehouse community outreach -hosted multiple san jose fire department events -old fire station 1 was used by community groups for monthly meetings -hosted tours of old fire station 1 for multiple community groups -provided public safety education during tours of old fire station 1”
