Activity 2

Economic Advancement - Assisting women and their families to achieve economic security through financial education and skills building, first-time homebuyer education and counseling, foreclosure counseling, and providing technical advice and coaching for entrepreneurs who want to start or grow a business. Accomplishments: 1,050 families received financial empowerment counseling, 50% who complete the program demonstrate increased financial stability within six months. 580 households received housing counseling leading to 154 families buying their first home, and 91% of foreclosure cases reaching a positive resolution. 1,677 new and emerging entrepreneurs received education and technical assistance, with 45% of new businesses still viable within 12 months after having completed the YWCA program.

Activity 3

Youth Program - Involves primarily low-income girls age 11 to 17 in programs that build life skills, self-direction, and independent thinking to encourage academic success and lifetime economic opportunity. Accomplishments: Engaged 1,400 young people in 5,500 hours of workshops and individual coaching. 93% of girls who participated in YWCA TechGyrls report that they would consider a career in math, engineering, or science after completing the program. 81% of who received individual coaching developed written goals and action plans for academic and career planning success and began implementing their plan. 66% of girls gain self acceptance, respect toward peers, and implement strategies learned for dealing with conflict within six months of entering the program.
