The stemie coalition envisions a world in which all students have access to invention and entrepreneurship education. The stemie coalition is on its way to being a globally-recognized force in enabling every child to gain the confidence and skills necessary to control their own destiny through invention, entrepreneurship, and innovation. “The 990 was created with support from the stemie coalition's accounting firm of record, and presented to the board of directors for review before filing. The 990 was distributed to all board members who voted unanimously to file the 990.”
“The conflict of interest policy includes compliance procedures for officers and directors to disclose personal interests that could conflict with the stemie coalition's interests. The board of directors reviews the disclosures annually and as any new conflicts occur.”
“The board hired an independent third party to canvas the market for compensation comparables for the ceo and make recommendations to the board. The recommendations were accepted by the board.”
“As key employees are added, the board will seek independent third party recommendations for compensation.”
“The organization's governing documents are available upon written request to the stemie coalition mailing address, 803 warrenville rd, mansfield center, ct 06250.”
“The stemie coalition envisions a world in which all students have access to invention and entrepreneurship education. The stemie coalition is on its way to being a globally-recognized force in enabling every child to gain the confidence and skills necessary to control their own destiny through invention, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Stemie programs fill the gap between traditional stem (science, technology, engineering and math) education and entrepreneurship, giving a capstone experience to the individual skills developed under stem and other k-16 workforce development programs.”
“In its second year, the stemie coalition has received a strong positive response from corporate partners and invention and entrepreneurship program leaders from across the u.s. For its stem+invention+entreprenuership (stemie) focus. It hosts the annual national invention convention and entrepreurship expo (in 2017, at the us patent and trademark office in alexandria, va., and in 2018 at the henry ford museum of american innovation). The stemie coalition operates under a 501(c)(3) designation september 30, 2016. Critical to stemie's continued successes in the market have been the vision, dedication, and hard work of the volunteers and steering committee. The steering committee is at the heart of the coalition collaboration; stemie ceo, danny briere, works with the committee and its subcommittees to advance the state of invention and entrepreneurship education programming, standards, and strategies. The stemie coalition is born from the nation's increasing emphasis on stem education. While stem provides an excellent opportunity for students to engage in structured problem solving, it generally does not provide a complete and holistic problem solving experience. The stemie coalition is making an extensive, immediate, and measurable impact on stem by infusing the foundational nature of a stem education with a motivating and collaborative curriculum of invention and entrepreneurship, and inspiring the youth of america not just to solve, but to create, and to share. The stemie coalition mission is to have every child in every school become an inventor and/or entrepreneur, once better twice, in their k-12 career, in every state in the u.s. As noted above stemie aspirations are to grow its programs to have a global reach so that students are prepared to drive a diverse and sustainable global econmoy.”

| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 0 | THE STEMIE COALITION ENVISIONS A WORLD IN WHICH ALL STUDENTS HAVE ACCESS TO INVENTION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION. STEMIE PROGRAMS FILL THE GAP BETWEEN TRADITIONAL STEM (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATH) EDUCATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP, GIVING A CAPSTONE EXPERIENCE TO THE INDIVIDUAL SKILLS DEVELOPED UNDER STEM AND OTHER K-16 WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 1 | IN ITS SECOND YEAR, THE STEMIE COALITION HAS RECEIVED A STRONG POSITIVE RESPONSE FROM CORPORATE PARTNERS AND INVENTION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM LEADERS FROM ACROSS THE U.S. AS NOTED ABOVE STEMIE ASPIRATIONS ARE TO GROW ITS PROGRAMS TO HAVE A GLOBAL REACH SO THAT STUDENTS ARE PREPARED TO DRIVE A DIVERSE AND SUSTAINABLE GLOBAL ECONMOY. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 2 | THE 990 WAS CREATED WITH SUPPORT FROM THE STEMIE COALITION'S ACCOUNTING FIRM OF RECORD, AND PRESENTED TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR REVIEW BEFORE FILING. THE 990 WAS DISTRIBUTED TO ALL BOARD MEMBERS WHO VOTED UNANIMOUSLY TO FILE THE 990. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 3 | THE CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY INCLUDES COMPLIANCE PROCEDURES FOR OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS TO DISCLOSE PERSONAL INTERESTS THAT COULD CONFLICT WITH THE STEMIE COALITION'S INTERESTS. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS REVIEWS THE DISCLOSURES ANNUALLY AND AS ANY NEW CONFLICTS OCCUR. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 4 | THE BOARD HIRED AN INDEPENDENT THIRD PARTY TO CANVAS THE MARKET FOR COMPENSATION COMPARABLES FOR THE CEO AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE BOARD. THE RECOMMENDATIONS WERE ACCEPTED BY THE BOARD. |
