IRS990/Desc02018 RADEF c3 Program AccomplishmentsLaunched a rural organizing initiative that conducted more than 800 in-depth surveys of Granite Staters and produced a report called "New Hampshire Together: Voices from the Granite State". The surveys were conducted beginning in the winter and continuing through the summer of 2018 by the Rights & Democracy Education Fund. This report is part of a national Rural and Small-Town Organizing Strategy launched earlier this year by People's Action, a national organization of which Rights & Democracy New Hampshire is an affiliate.Served as a member of the Racial Justice Alliance, led by Vermont-based racial justice organization, Justice For All. The Alliance successfully advocated for the passage of legislation that established the position of Executive Director of Racial Equity within the Vermont Agency of Administration. Xusana Davis was appointed to this position in 2019. RADEF supported the alliance through policy research, developing draft legislative language, community education, and providing legislative testimony.-Served as a community partner to the black, indigenous, and people of color(BlPOC)-led Vermont Coalition for Ethnic and Social Equity in Schools, whichsuccessfully advocated for a statutory requirement to develop ethnic and social equity standards across the curriculum for every public school in the State of Vermont. RADEF recruited an Intersectional Justice Coordinator as a spring semester internship to support the Coalition through grassroots mobilization, community education, and legislative testimony.
