Mission

Dhaan is a 501(c)(3) organization to address issues, meet needs and build an agenda for the upbringing of the linguistic minority sourashtra community.

Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
The Medical Services chapter teamed up with Palkar Hospital Trust to provide free eye and dental camps in Madurai, India. Our support included funding for equipment and the camps. Over 2000 individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds received preventive care. More than 1300 of them were provided with free prescription glasses, while around 100 received free cataract consultations and treatments. Additionally, about 200 patients were given eye drops, and approximately 40 benefited from a free dental exam.$120,000$120,000
The Senior Care chapter has been a key sponsor of the new medical and senior care facility in Perungudi, Madurai, established by Mahatma Trust. This expanded facility, which includes a private suite sponsored by Dhaan, offers additional capacity and enhanced amenities to meet the growing needs of the community.$53,765$53,765
The Education chapter runs various programs to support aspiring students facing financial obstacles in achieving academic success. We awarded over 400 scholarships to students across more than 60 educational institutions in India. We partnered with Madurai Gandhi NMRS Women's College in India to support a Work Study program, providing students with real-world experiences to enhance their professional readiness. Additionally, we guided and sponsored coaching expenses for 5 deserving and ambitious students to pursue an IIT preparation program, helping them achieve their goals.$0$50,847
The Heritage chapter is dedicated to offering support services to weavers and seniors with little to no resources for essential needs. We've helped hundreds of weavers in economically disadvantaged areas by providing clothing and financial assistance. Over 20 seniors and disabled beneficiaries receive recurring financial aid.
