“2017 was a year in which the emergency responders assistance program, erap, began to experience significant growth. Growth to erap is measured in multiple ways, most importantly, number of participants attending our post critical incident seminars, pcis, community awareness, board participations, and financial stability. Our annual goal is to hold, at minimum, two pcis each year. At the close of 2017, we completed our fifth pcis. We held two pcis this year which were both at capacity or greater. We served 56 first responders and spouses during 2017. We define a first responder as a person who is in law enforcement, fire, 911 call taker/dispatcher, or emt. In 2015, our clinical team determined that a participant level of twenty-six or less would be at capacity for a pcis. March of 2017, we were at capacity. October participation once again was at capacity. During 2017, we gave eight community presentations, had three tv appearances and print media. In addition, we continued to develop relationships that provide funding for our organization. As 2017 came to a close, erap began to experience a significant surge in community awareness. We attribute the awareness to the networking that our board has been focused on during 2017. Strategically, we are focusing our attention on fundraising, building partnerships with peer organizations, expanding our first responder network, and recruiting well established professional prospective board members. In 2018, we will hold two pcis. In march of this year, we held our sixth pcis with the seventh scheduled for october. As a result of our expansion of our first responder network, pcis six was our largest seminar with thirty-three participants, four mental health professionals, and nine peers. At this time,we have fifteen already scheduled for october and we anticipate that we will be at capacity. The board of directors will focus on fundraising in 2018. To date, we have held one fundraiser and participated in a second. By year-end, we will hold two more. We will attend multiple first responder conferences in state and potentially one out of state. The expected outcome is to continue to present erap and source participates for our post critical incident seminars.”
