“- implementing a technical table for sharks and rays in guatemala: the conformation of a group of different entities to talk about the necessities the country has to help protect sharks and rays. - diving course: diving courses were given to four members of the youth of el quetzalito so that may learn to appreciate marine life. - lionfish hunt: this is an activity were we took the certified divers from el quetzalito to hunt lionfish, so that they can learn a valuable source of protein from this invasive species. - surveys to shark fishermen and surveys of perception of the state of sharks to overall population : in this activity we learned the perception of shark fishermen and the regular town population by using surveys where we ask about their perception of sharks. - bruvs: baited remote underwater video systems are used to measure the megafauna around, this gives an indication of how the state of the megafauna is. - scientific longlines: scientific longlines are used to do biological monitoring to determine the megafauna of the area. - diagnosis community el quetzalito: diagnosis to better understand the demographics of the community. - helping the fishermens committee: helping the fishermen committee of el quetzalito develop and structure themselves.”
