| In 2020 due to the pandemic our programming was put on hold for the first few months. With an intense feeling of uncertainty and fear we were in somewhat of a wait and see holding pattern. However, by late spring we stepped up and were able to use the creativity, ingenuity and talents of our team and community thought partners to create something new and different. We ultimately pivoted into the virtual world as so many other like organizations did in 2020. While there were definite limits it has also allowed our programming to continue and expand. Since we could not host our annual CIRCLE Cafe - Conference, we created an online experience for our community to engage in through what we coined as the 2020 CIRCLE Convergence. We had three guest speakers to serve as a panel of presentation and over 60 participants in attendance. As an organization we are continually reaching out to the community in an intentional way to bring people together for educational opportunities specific to diversity, equity and inclusiveness. Our office space for CIRCLE was not sustainable due to the pandemic and the strict stay-at-home orders were in place in Colorado. However, we were able to find alternate office space at a decreased monthly rent for when we can go back. We will continue to engage with community members through being IN community again for 2021. CIRCLE organization remains committed to our transformative consultation that has been developed and expanded in 2020. Due to the civil unrest and racial tensions in our country, especially after the murder of Mr. George Floyd, request for even more consultation services increased exponentially. We have had to pass along some of the requests as there have been almost too many coming at us during the summer and fall of 2020. In addition, we have been selective with our efforts to ensure mission alignment with the many requests we received. We were able to work with several organizations, public programs and municipalities to help support their equity efforts. Those partnerships and engagement opportunities continue to grow as does our group of Expert Practitioners who are part of our consultative team. Our Expert Practitioners bring not only the expertise, scholarship in the content areas of diversity, equity and inclusion but as importantly, the value of lived experiences. We are extremely fortunate for their many talents and look forward to the advancement of equity and organizational development we are supporting in communities and across the sectors, the state and other areas of the country. 3 C's of CIRCLE - Conference - Cafe - Convergence We were unable to host the annual CIRCLE Conference and/or CIRCLE Cafe due to COVID. This conference is an annual diversity and inclusiveness event for community leaders, educators, board members, parents, and students committed to building more inclusive organizations, systems and school communities. For 2020 we shifted our offering to an online event with guest speakers, Dr. Eddie Moore, Jr, Mr. Jamie Utt and Carla Mestas, MA as our distinguished presenters, who led our CIRCLE Convergence entitled Building Community, Connecting & Growing Across Digital Divides. The audience who consisted of educators, community leaders, nonprofit organizations, and other community members came together for an evening of shared learning, courageous conversations and growth. At the end of the experience, over 60 participants left with a greater sense of the need for deeper dialogues, community and a stronger commitment and action for developing their own personal and/or organizational goals for building more equitable and just programs and systems in place. We are looking towards planning more virtual CIRCLE Convergence experiences in 2021. Student Leadership Development: The Purpose of STAMP programming is to develop student leaders who are engaged in culturally responsive dialogue, through experiential opportunities to promote leadership, social justice and equity in their communities. Again, due to COVID and the CDC/statewide restrictions placed on public gatherings, The Students Taking Action & Making Progress (STAMP) youth leadership program was impacted greatly. Some programming had to be rescheduled or cancelled in 2020. However, once again we used the creativity of our team along with our STAMP student leaders to shift our programming to the virtual world. This allowed for unique programming and the ability to increase our outreach efforts across the state and country. STAMP is continually increasing, not only in popularity, but diversity and numbers. STAMP serves as our program for student leadership development. Our leadership program models opportunities for emerging, multicultural and transformational leadership with an emphasis on diversity, equity and social justice. We were able to have 3 virtual offerings in 2020-21. 1. Student led College Panel - summer, 2020 2. STAMP conference for High School students, fall of 2020 3. STAMP Experience "From Quarantine to Informed Teen" which will occur in spring of 2021 In past years, we have been able to offer several programming options for the young people in our community. We have had to reconvene or pivot our programming during the time of COVID. Those youth leadership program offerings consist of: STAMP Camp (6th year) - will reconvene in 2021 STAMP Camp 2.0 (2nd year) - will reconvene in 2021 STAMP Leadership Training - occurring virtually STAMP Conference (9th year) - occurred virtually STAMP Youth Leadership Council (YLC) - on hold from March-May 2020 - occurred virtually from May 2020- present The increase of numbers, participation and waitlists speaks to the high need for this type of programming for student leadership development that is centered in diversity, equity and inclusiveness, naturally drawing on Students of Color and White allies across the Denver metro area. We look forward to further developing the STAMP YLC group in 2021. | $0 | $83,681 |
