“The information tax returns are reviewed by the officers and board of directors for approval before they are filed.”
“Llvm's president is the only paid officer. Her compensation has been reviewed by the board and compared to market data. Given her educational background and experience, her compensation has been determined to be nominal considering the amount of time that is devoted. Much of her time is essentially "donated" to the organization in fulfillment of its mission.”

The llvm project is becoming one of the top platforms of choice for compiler research at universities. The grants & scholarships program is designed to support student presenter travel to the llvm developers' meetings and other conferences that students may attend and present their llvm and compiler related work. Lastly, our women in compilers & tools program aims to increase female participation in the llvm project and the field of compilers and tools. We hope to achieve this by increasing awareness of the llvm project at various technical conferences with strong female participation, establish a mentoring program, and lower barriers of entry for this field.”
“Session with 12 posters, 17 technical talks, 2 birds of a feather sessions, 13 lighting talks, and 4 tutorials. Technical talks, which are 30 minute in-depth talks, included topics such as link-time optimizations, software pipelining, loop fusion, interactive c++ template debugging, and more. In addition to an exciting program, eurollvm hosted a khronos uk chapter meeting in parallel. Slides and video recordings were posted on the public website and made available for free. The 2015 us llvm developers' meeting meeting was held in san jose, ca and hosted 360 attendees. Attendance increased by 15% over the previous year making it the largest us llvm developers' meeting and one of the largest compiler conferences in the world. This 2-day event featured a half day hacking and networking session, 21 technical talks, 4 tutorials, 11 birds of a feather sessions, 8 lightning talks, and 10 posters. Technical talks are 35 minute in-depth talks on topics such as opencl, global instruction selection, optimizations, clang tooling, vectorization, and more. The llvm foundation organized a birds of a feather (bof) session on the llvm foundation's women in compilers and tools program which aims to increase women involvement in compilers, tools, and the llvm project. The bof was heavily attended and generated some great ideas for the program that will be pursued in the coming fiscal year. All talks and tutorials were recorded and the videos and presentation slides were made available for free on the public website. Lastly, the llvm foundation continued its participation with the google summer of code (gsoc) program through organization of mentors and supporting mentor travel reimbursement to the gsoc summit. The gsoc program helps students become involved in the llvm project by assigning each a mentor who can provide guidance during the 3 month project. This year we had 4 students and 4 mentors participating. This program is a key piece of ensuring the long term health and growth of the llvm project community.”

| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 0 | THE LLVM FOUNDATION'S MISSION IS TO SUPPORT EDUCATION AND ADVANCEMENT OF THE FIELD OF COMPILERS AND TOOLS THROUGH EDUCATIONAL EVENTS, GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS, AND INCREASING DIVERSITY WITH THE FIELD OF COMPILERS, TOOLS, AND THE LLVM PROJECT. WE HAVE ESTABLISHED 3 MAIN PROGRAMS: EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH, GRANTS & SCHOLARSHIPS, AND WOMEN IN COMPILERS & TOOLS. THE EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH PROGRAM IS OUR LARGEST PROGRAM AND INCLUDES EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS AND EVENTS RELATED TO THE LLVM PROJECT, COMPILER TECHNOLOGY, AND TOOLS. OUR 2 LARGEST EVENTS ARE THE LLVM DEVELOPERS' MEETINGS LOCATED IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, AND IN EUROPE. THESE MEETINGS SERVE AS A FORUM FOR LLVM PROJECT DEVELOPERS, USERS, AND ACADEMIC RESEARCHERS TO GET ACQUAINTED, LEARN HOW LLVM IS USED, AND EXCHANGE IDEAS ABOUT LLVM AND COMPILER TECHNOLOGY. THIS PROGRAM ALSO INCLUDES EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS SUCH AS INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEOS AND FULL VIDEO RECORDINGS FROM OUR DEVELOPER MEETINGS THAT ARE AVAILABLE FREE TO ANYONE. WE HOPE TO ACHIEVE THIS BY INCREASING AWARENESS OF THE LLVM PROJECT AT VARIOUS TECHNICAL CONFERENCES WITH STRONG FEMALE PARTICIPATION, ESTABLISH A MENTORING PROGRAM, AND LOWER BARRIERS OF ENTRY FOR THIS FIELD. |

THIS PROGRAM IS A KEY PIECE OF ENSURING THE LONG TERM HEALTH AND GROWTH OF THE LLVM PROJECT COMMUNITY. |
