Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Urban islands project is a non-profit corporation and shall be operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of section 501 (c)(3) of the internal revenue code of 1986, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code. Urban islands project's purpose is to partner with and compliment the efforts of any organization that seeks to improve the quality of life in the urban neighborhoods of the most populous american cities. Ultimately, our purpose is to help every urban neighborhood achieve its optimum state of being. We will achieve our purpose by moving community catalysts into each targeted neighborhood and finding the opportunities to add value through participation in community service projects, mobilizing volunteer support for civic community improvement endeavors, local schools, existing non- profits and other organizations seeking to raise the standard of life in the local context.
