WE HAVE LONG BEEN AT THE FOREFRONT IN CARING FOR THESE PATIENTS AND ARE ALWAYS EXPLORING WAYS TO ENHANCE THEIR TREATMENT AND LIFESTYLE.IN 2017, WE DEBUTED A NEW, MORE CENTRALLY LOCATED CARDIOVASCULAR CENTER AT METHODIST HOSPITAL. LARGER PROCEDURE ROOMS, A CLOSER PROXIMITY TO THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT AND OUR CARDIOVASCULAR SURGICAL SUITES HAVE FURTHER ENHANCED OUR ABILITY TO CARE FOR OUR PATIENTS.THE CARDIOVASCULAR CENTER OFFERS THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY TO BETTER EVALUATE OUR PATIENT'S CARDIAC HEALTH. HOME TO OUR ECHO LAB, HEART STATION AND VASCULAR LAB, METHODIST CARDIOLOGISTS AND CARE TEAM MEMBERS ASSESS AND DEVELOP COMPREHENSIVE TREATMENT PLANS.OUR ECHO LAB AND VASCULAR LAB ARE BOTH ACCREDITED BY THE INTERSOCIETAL COMMISSION ON ACCREDITATION OF ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY LABORATORIES (ICAEL). METHODIST HOSPITAL'S COMMITMENT AND SUCCESS IN IMPLEMENTING AN EXCEPTIONAL STANDARD OF CARE FOR CARDIAC PATIENTS HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED BY THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION AND THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF CARDIOLOGY.IN 2017, METHODIST WAS HONORED WITH THE MISSION: LIFELINE NSTEMI BRONZE QUALITY ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR THE TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WHO SUFFER HEART ATTACKS. METHODIST HOSPITAL WAS ALSO ONE OF ONLY 193 HOSPITALS TO BE RECOGNIZED BY AMERICAN COLLEGE OF CARDIOLOGY WITH A NCDR ACTION REGISTRY PLATINUM PERFORMANCE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.METHODIST WAS ONE OF ONLY 13 HOSPITALS IN THE MIDWEST, AND THE ONLY HOSPITAL IN OMAHA, RECOGNIZED BY CONSUMER REPORTS, FOR THEIR EXCELLENCE IN OVERALL HEART BYPASS, WITH A RATING OF BETTER THAN EXPECTED. METHODIST ALSO RECEIVED HIGH MARKS FOR PATIENTS RECEIVING ALL FOUR OF THE RECOMMENDED MEDICATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH BYPASS SURGERY. IN 2017, METHODIST HOSPITAL WAS ALSO HONORED BY BECKER'S HOSPITAL REVIEW, BEING NAMED ONE OF THEIR "100 HOSPITALS AND HEALTH SYSTEMS WITH GREAT HEART PROGRAMS". ALSO A LEADER IN STROKE CARE AND TREATMENT, METHODIST WOMEN'S HOSPITAL BECAME THE FIRST ACUTE STROKE READY HOSPITAL IN NEBRASKA CERTIFIED BY THE JOINT COMMISSION AND THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION/AMERICAN STROKE ASSOCIATION.
