Mission

CALSO Community, Inc. (CALSO) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to break the greatest barriers disadvantaged and marginalized populations face on their journey to success. Whether these challenges are linked to access to quality education, livable jobs, primary healthcare or affordable housing, CALSO aspires to empower each and every individual to reach their full potential so they can thrive. Our double-bottom-line approach is based on innovative, sustainable business models to address today's greatest social and environmental issues.Since its creation, CALSO has been working on two main verticals:- Workforce development programs to address the unemployment issue in the Bay Area by reducing the skills gaps with programs that provide educational and employment services to those in need. - Support social entrepreneurs and nonprofit organizations through accelerators.

Financial Statement Notes

Part X, Line 2:

The Organization is a nonprofit corporation that is exempt from the payment of income taxes under Internal Revenue Code Section 50l(c)(3) and the California Revenue and Taxation Code Section 2370l(d). Accordingly, no provision has been made for income taxes. The Organization evaluates uncertain tax positions whereby the effect of the uncertainty would be recorded if tax positions were more likely than not to be sustained upon examination. Management has evaluated the Organization's tax positions and believes there are no uncertain positions required to be recorded or disclosed for the years ended December 31, 2021 and 2020. By statute, the Organization's federal and state income tax returns generally remain subject to examination by taxing authorities for three and four years, respectively, from the date the return is filed.

Whether they were living in poverty in Indonesia or in refugee camps in Greece, our goal was to provide these children with continuous and consistent access to quality education.For 8 months, INCO Education Accelerator supported and coached 18 NGOs to implement distance education initiatives for out-of-school children. Across 9 countries in Europe and Asia, more than 360,000 children and 20,000 teachers benefited from these initiatives.
