“Quenedit dance theatres mission is to enrich lives through dance by providing our pre-professional company opportunities to develop as leaders and dancers, perform for audiences in local, national and international venues, and engage the san antonio community through exposure of the performing arts.”

“Qdt nutcracker: the biggest performance of the year is our annual presentation of the nutcracker ballet. Since our premier performance in december 2014, we have doubled the number of student dancers performing in the nutcracker ballet, and our audiences have grown to over 1,500 for each performance. Our outreach to childrens organizations to give underprivileged children the opportunity to experience the performing arts has also grown to providing over 600 children the chance to be a part of this holiday favorite. The qdt nutcracker ballet features qdt company members, acrobats from participating san antonio gyms, dancers from san antonio dance schools and local celebrities starring in the role of mother ginger. With qdt company members being the core of our annual nutcracker performances, they all learn the large group pieces such as snow and waltz of the flowers, which include between12 and 24 dancers. Members of the corps de ballet are required to learn choreography quickly and maintain mental flexibility as positions are changed throughout the choreography.”

“Sa dance: the sa dance festival, a three-day event, was established by quenedit dance theatre to bring to the community the great diversity of quality dance styles while inspiring new generations, developing artists, and creating a collective experience for dancers as well as audiences. Each year the festival showcases local, national and international artists and choreographers and gives students the opportunity to perform with and learn from professional artists.”

“Summer cultural program:collaborations with escuela superior de musica y danza, monterrey, mexico and cuban national ballet school, havana, cuba have allowed qdt to provide international opportunities to the qdt company members, including the experience of attending cuban national ballet school's annual workshop in havana, cuba. Students from mexico and cuba have also been hosted at qdts home studio in san antonio, tx on several occasions.”

“Scholarship program: qdt's scholarship program is designed to support, improve, and increase opportunities for students who wish to further their dance/performing arts training for a career in dance and the performing arts. Scholarships are awarded by audition at qdt for the academic year and/or the summer intensive. The majority of scholarships go to intermediate and advanced level students, ages 12-18.”
