2022 IMPACT SUMMARY EDUCATION FOR SCHOLARS (EFS) PROVIDED 4 STEM PROGRAMS WITHIN THE TULSA PUBLIC SCHOOLS DISTRICT. THREE OF THE PROGRAMS WERE ROBOTIC CLUBS AT MACARTHUR ELEMENTARY, NATHAN HALE JUNIOR HIGH, AND WALT WHITMAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS. IN ADDITION, EFS HAS OFFERED A STEM INSTITUTE AT MCLAIN HIGH SCHOOL OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FOR TWO CONSECUTIVE SUMMERS AND HAS CONTINUED THE PROGRAM DURING THE AFTERSCHOOL. PROGRAM OBJECTIVES OUR COLLEGE AND CAREER INITIATIVES ARE TO GROW A DIVERSE, INCLUSIVE WORKFORCE, WITH A SPECIAL FOCUS ON STEM CAREERS, THAT ARE INCLUSIVE OF STUDENTS OF COLOR AND YOUNG WOMEN. 2022 impact summary education for scholars (efs) provided 4 stem programs within the tulsa public schools district. Three of the programs were robotic clubs at macarthur elementary, nathan hale junior high, and walt whitman elementary schools. In addition, efs has offered a stem institute at mclain high school of science and technology for two consecutive summers and has continued the program during the afterschool. Program objectives our college and career initiatives are to grow a diverse, inclusive workforce, with a special focus on stem careers, that are inclusive of students of color and young women. "increase students' exposure to stem and project-based learning. "increase postsecondary readiness through college and career readiness programming. "work with students to write college essays and submit college applications as a means of increasing college admission and readiness. "increase the number of minority students going into stem careers. Number of students reached (2021-2022 academic school year & summer) 171 students reached -- stem & college/career 92% student retention rate 49 attended the plant-a-seed summer stem institute 4 students hired as high school interns 75% student satisfactory rate 80% staff satisfactory rate 100% parent/guardian satisfactory rate 78% minority students 42% female students college and career results (2022) 75% senior graduation rate 78% post-secondary acceptance 63 % increased knowledge about college and career stem (science, technology, engineering & math) results a retrospective self-change data instrument with a 5-point likert scale was used to analyze our stem impact. Our stem programs rated greater than 3.0 in stem career interest and knowledge indicating our students had a significant positive change in these areas. Another survey showed: 39% increase knowledge about stem 172% increase knowledge about stem careers demographics (2022) 51.38% black 12.84% biracial 3.67% hawaiian/pacific island 19.37% hispanic 1.73% native american 11.01% white

NUMBER OF STUDENTS REACHED (2021-2022 ACADEMIC SCHOOL YEAR & SUMMER) 171 STUDENTS REACHED -- STEM & COLLEGE/CAREER 92% STUDENT RETENTION RATE 49 ATTENDED THE PLANT-A-SEED SUMMER STEM INSTITUTE 4 STUDENTS HIRED AS HIGH SCHOOL INTERNS 75% STUDENT SATISFACTORY RATE 80% STAFF SATISFACTORY RATE 100% PARENT/GUARDIAN SATISFACTORY RATE 78% MINORITY STUDENTS 42% FEMALE STUDENTS COLLEGE AND CAREER RESULTS (2022) 75% SENIOR GRADUATION RATE 78% POST-SECONDARY ACCEPTANCE 63 % INCREASED KNOWLEDGE ABOUT COLLEGE AND CAREER STEM (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING & MATH) RESULTS A RETROSPECTIVE SELF-CHANGE DATA INSTRUMENT WITH A 5-POINT LIKERT SCALE WAS USED TO ANALYZE OUR STEM IMPACT. OUR STEM PROGRAMS RATED GREATER THAN 3.0 IN STEM CAREER INTEREST AND KNOWLEDGE INDICATING OUR STUDENTS HAD A SIGNIFICANT POSITIVE CHANGE IN THESE AREAS.
