“WriteBoston - Description of programs and services:WriteBoston is a nonprofit literacy organization that partners with students, schools, districts and educational organizations across Massachusetts. We believe that powerful literacy skills are core to social justice, social mobility, and equal opportunity. We work towards this goal with two complementary programs: 1) a youth writing and journalism program, Teens in Print and 2) professional development and coaching services to schools, districts and education organizations so that they may better serve young people to develop into independent and engaged readers, writers and critical thinkers. In 2020-2021, our Teens in Print program engaged over 500 middle and high school students through after-school and summer programming, workshops, college-readiness support, and online publication. In our professional development and coaching services, our instructional coaches worked with 160 educators from a total of 31 schools and 14 school districts. In total, our services for youth and educators had a reach of approximately 5000 middle and high school students during FY 21.”

In our professional development and coaching services, our instructional coaches worked with 160 educators from a total of 31 schools and 14 school districts. In total, our services for youth and educators had a reach of approximately 5000 middle and high school students during FY 21. |
