The mission of the douglas county car care program is to provide car care to enable independence. The purpose of the douglas county car care program is to receive donated vehicles, repair them and then donate them to needy families in douglas county minnesota to remove their transportation barriers. The program will also repair vehicles for individuals of douglas county who already own a vehicle but are not able to afford the repairs. The intent of the program is to remove the transportation barriers for people in poverty so they can get to work, care for themselves and their families.
To provide car care to enable independence.

“The board has appointed an executive committee composed of members of the board which are authorized to transact all routine and ordinary business between times when the full board meets, with the exception of the establishment of major policy changes. The executive committee is comprised of five (5) members: the four (4) officers and the immediate past president. “Each new responsible person shall be required to review a copy of the organization's policy and to acknowledge in writing that he or she has done so. Any such information regarding business interests of a responsible person or a family member shall be treated as confidential and shall generally be made available only to the chair, the executive director, and any committee appointed to address conflicts of interest, except to the extent additional disclosure is necessary in connection with the implementation of the organization's policy. When a conflict of interest issue arise it is brought to the full board. Board members or staff members must report to the board when they know they have a potential conflict of interest. Where the board needs to pass by a two third majority with the board member with the conflict of interest is not counted. The organization's policy shall be reviewed annually by each member of the board of directors. Any changes to the policy shall be communicated immediately to all responsible.”

ANY SUCH INFORMATION REGARDING BUSINESS INTERESTS OF A RESPONSIBLE PERSON OR A FAMILY MEMBER SHALL BE TREATED AS CONFIDENTIAL AND SHALL GENERALLY BE MADE AVAILABLE ONLY TO THE CHAIR, THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, AND ANY COMMITTEE APPOINTED TO ADDRESS CONFLICTS OF INTEREST, EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT ADDITIONAL DISCLOSURE IS NECESSARY IN CONNECTION WITH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ORGANIZATION'S POLICY. WHEN A CONFLICT OF INTEREST ISSUE ARISE IT IS BROUGHT TO THE FULL BOARD. BOARD MEMBERS OR STAFF MEMBERS MUST REPORT TO THE BOARD WHEN THEY KNOW THEY HAVE A POTENTIAL CONFLICT OF INTEREST. WHERE THE BOARD NEEDS TO PASS BY A TWO THIRD MAJORITY WITH THE BOARD MEMBER WITH THE CONFLICT OF INTEREST IS NOT COUNTED. THE ORGANIZATION'S POLICY SHALL BE REVIEWED ANNUALLY BY EACH MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. ANY CHANGES TO THE POLICY SHALL BE COMMUNICATED IMMEDIATELY TO ALL RESPONSIBLE. |
