Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7A

The directors of the Corporation shall, at all times, be limited to individuals who are either members of the Board of Directors of Mutual Housing Association ofSouth Central Connecticut, Inc. d/b/a NeighborWorks New Horizons (MHA), or non-members who have the approval of the Board of Directors of MBA. In the event that a director of the Corporation ceases to be a member of the Board of Directors of MHA or, if the aforesaid approval is withdrawn, then, in either event, such shall constitute automatic resignation as a director of the corporation.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7B

The Organization accounts for uncertainty in income taxes in accordance with the Income Tax Topic of the Financial Accounting Standards Board Accounting Standards Codification ("FASB ASC"). The Organization files Federal tax returns, which represent the major tax jurisdiction of the Organization. Federal tax year 2014 remains open for audit under the various statues of limitations. At December 31, 2015, the Organization believes that there are no uncertain tax positions with any of its open tax years.
