“$38,000 was granted to Tarkanfi Sustainable Development (TSD), Dukem, Oromia S.R., Ethiopia, Africa. www.tsdethiopia.org TSD is a certified Ethiopian non-profit led (unpaid) by our founder and volunteer missionary who is a US citizen, a native of Ethiopia, and a professional community development worker and teacher. $33,000 helped TSD construct 4 classrooms and teacher bedrooms for remote Awaro Primary School. [The school is too remote for the teachers to commute from their homes on school days.] $3,000 helped TSD sponsor 30 orphans so they could continue their education. $2,000 helped TSD fund sewing/tailoring training for 20 destitute young women. $7,000 was granted to our founder, director, and volunteer missionary to fund missionary activities beyond the scope of TSD ($2,000), and to help with field expenses ($5000).The volunteer missionary lives in Ethiopia most of the year 1.) participating in community life as a role model for servant-leadership, generosity, volunteering, and community spirit, 2. leading (CEO) Tarkanfi Sustainable Development (TSD) [unpaid], inspiring and mentoring teachers and community leaders to increase their dedication and effectiveness, 4.) initiating mission projects and benevolences beyond the scope of TSD (emergency supplies for destitute communities of internally displaced women and children, emergency assistance to widows, families in crisis, disabled, street children, etc., 5.) networking locally, regionally, and internationally to promote community spirit, community development, women's empowerment, and peace, 6.) welcoming in-country and international guests to project sites and communities.”
