Mission

To engage in community development and enhancing communities by: aiding low-to-moderate income households in achieving homeownership through affordable housing initiatives, providing housing and consumer credit counseling, and housing development activities; aiding at-risk youth with improving their academic outcomes through education initiatives such as tutoring, test prep, and post-secondary readiness; aiding at risk and disabled youth with developing employment skills that improve their career readiness and employment outcomes; and engaging in community health initiatives and psychoeducation programs that improve community health outcomes.

To engage in community development and improving communities by: providing housing and consumer credit counseling to low and moderate income households to aid them in achieving homeownership; to improve educational outcomes by aiding at risk youth in graduating high school and with achieving college readiness; to improve employment outcomes by aiding at risk and disabled youth with developing employment skills; to improve community health outcomes by engaging in community health initiatives and psychoeducation programs.

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
After School Programming: Provide tutoring, homework assistance and test preparation to students during out-of-school hours. This programming is designed to assist participants in passing the FSA and EOC exams and improve promotions to the next school grade. This program had 19 participants.$0$2,660
FAFSA Assistance Workshop- Targeted to high school juniors and seniors to assist them and their parents with completing the FAFSA to ensure they receive as much aid as possible to assist in attending college. Early application is encouraged to ensure they are eligible for all needs based funding. Presented in a classroom format and includes take-home handouts and snacks for attendees. This service assisted 37 students and 40 parents.$0$1,820
SAT/ACT Prep: Targeted to 11th and 12th grade students to assist them on the SAT and ACT exams for the purpose of increasing their chances of earning an academic scholarship, and/or obtaining a score high enough for college acceptance. This program had 89 participants.$0$1,507
Housing Counseling: Meet with low to moderate income families to discuss budgeting, finances and credit to assist them in qualifying for a mortgage. Also work with the family throughout the mortgage application process to aid in identifying and securing any mortgage assistance program funding to aid in making housing more affordable. Partner with the families to provide support throughout the homebuying process. While going through the housing counseling process these homebuyers are considered to be a member of the Homebuyer Pipeline. There are currently 7 families in the homebuyer pipeline.$0$1,500
College Application Seminar: Targeted to high school juniors and seniors to assist them with the fundamentals of the college application process. Topics such as highlighting extra curricular activities and volunteer activities to make their applications stand out were discussed. These events had a total attendance of 37 participants.$0$913
