“T1d exchange was founded in 2010 on the belief that people affected by type 1 diabetes need better solutions faster - better treatments and better care. The nonprofit organization takes an innovative approach that puts the community of people touched by type 1 diabetes at the center of research that will meaningfully impact their lives. Since our founding in 2010, we've been working to accelerate new therapies and improve the quality of care for people with type 1 diabetes. Today, t1d exchange is strategically focused on the following initiatives to advance our mission: (1) patient-centered research: at t1d exchange, we are identifying, building, and engaging large cohorts of patients and caregivers from the t1d community who are ready and willing to participate in research. (2) collaborative science: t1d exchange fosters collaboration among various scientific, research and industry stakeholders to deepen the understanding of type 1 diabetes and expand the knowledge base of the disease. (3) improving quality care: t1d exchange is leveraging its broad expertise to discover if we can help clinics achieve better outcomes for their patients more efficiently and effectively. Our goal is to understand the variability of outcomes across a varied t1d population, and test new ways to improve outcomes. (4) accelerating innovation: breakthroughs can't happen without innovation. This initiative aims to accelerate transformative t1d research through the advancement of innovative, novel approaches. The goal is two-fold: to discover and advance promising solutions for people living with t1d, while reducing the risks of bringing these innovations to market.”
