Mission

Pharmacy Choice and Access Now (PCAN) was organized to to work with patients, health care providers, and pharmacists across the country to preserve access to essential pharmacy services and the ability for patients to select the community pharmacy they prefer.

Major Activities

Activity 2
PCAN created a robust and interactive website that contains information about the coalition, a listing of those who have joined the coalition, the health care issues undertaken, an information center, blog, and interactive online outlets where people can submit personal stories and interact with the coalition. PCAN also communicated to Americans through the social networking sites of Facebook and Twitter. Many thousands of people have been reached through these efforts.
Activity 3
PCAN sponsored a study on the economic impact of changing the Texas Medicaid pharmacy benefit structure. The study was an analysis of the potential effects of switching from a fee-for-service structure to a managed care framework. The study was disseminated to elected officials, media, and coalition members.
