Activity 2

Pace juvenile center is our community-based operating division, providing skill building services for a diverse population of youth and families struggling with mental health and/or substance abuse issues. In fy2013 pace provided services to 2,398 clients, enhancing the services of mental health professionals, educators and juvenile court/department of human services by collaborating with providers and families to alleviate behavioral issues and promote accountability. We offer youth and families the skills to improve functioning and relationships by working as partners with our mental health professionals at child guidance center and in the community. Pace also provides outpatient substance abuse services and alcohol diversion/education classes for youth struggling with abuse or misuse of substances. Assessments, group therapy, and individual therapy and interventions provide alternatives to help stop destructive patterns of behavior.

Activity 3

Child guidance center is iowa's only state-accredited community mental health center specifically for children, providing a wide range of services that are planned and delivered following the resilence model of community mental health for children and youth. We served 5,203 children and youth in fy2013 with services including individual, family and group therapy; psychological evaluation and testing; custody and attachment assessments; psychiatric evaluation; medication assessment and management; school-based mental health services; early childhood services from birth to age 5; functional family therapy; professional consultation and mental health education; child care resource and referral services; system of care services; and trauma informed care services.
