The organization shares facilities and management functions with the burlington/west burlignton area chamber of commerce and grow greater burlington, inc. The organizations maintain separate board of directors.

The cfo is actively involved in the preparation and review of the form 990. The ceo and board of directors are provided a copy to review, including all required schedules, prior to filing.

Each board member reviews and signs the conflict of interest policy annually. Any conflicts are identified and reviewed. The ceo is aware of transactions throughout the year, as she is the signer of checks. This process allows for continued considerations of any conflicts of interest.

The organization is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(6) based on an internal revenue service letter dated august 1997. The organization had no unrelated business taxable income as of december 31, 2024 and 2023. Therefore, no provision or liability for income taxes has been included in the financial statements. The organization is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress.
