The ec nenbers then complete a written review and have the ed complete a self assessment of the past year and future goals. Compensation changes are addressed during the review. The executive committee approves and then recomends the review to the board of directors, whom then approve the comensation change.”

“The dcdc is involved in supporting existing businesses and recruiting new businesses to the dewitt area. The dcdc partnered with the small business center to provide free couseling for businessowners, 39 participated. 39,900 of chamber bucks were sold, keeping spending dollars in dewitt. A look local first initiative was maintained, designed to encourage residents, employees and visitors to purchase goods and services in the community. The dcdc is a member of two economic development regions quad cities firstand prosperity eastern iowa. Our staff partners and leads community workforce development initiatives with business and educational institutions in our region; including hands on activities,which provided 1,000+ area students with career exposure opportunities. The dcdc responds to prospective business inquires regarding expansion opportunities in our community.”

“The dcdc promotes member development. Membership grew to 230. Membership dues structure did not change. We continue to offer a dues structure that allows members to choose what level of membership they prefer. The dcdc ambassadors welcomed 11 new business to dewitt and celebrated 13 spotlight on successses for existing business growth. We recognized our outstanding members in our "members choice awards" that allows members and the community to cast their vote in different categories of business excellence. Monthly networking events and quarterly lunch and learn meetings are held. New member packets are distributed and quarterly dcdc 101 information sessions are held for new members and contacts. The annual golf bash fundraiser was held. The dcdc newsletter is sent to 800 people on a monthly basis.”

“The dcdc works to improve branding and community relations for the dewitt community. They promoted over 322 community events and distributed thousands of visitor brochures and community guides to residents, employees and visitors. Community banners and holiday decorations are hung along two primarystreets. A "welcome to dewitt" program for new residents and employeescontinues to be offered. The dcdc partners with the eastern iowa tourism association and quad cities convention & visitors bureau to assist in promoting community attractions and businesses to visitors. Enhancements were made to the dcdc website- dewittiowa.org, increasing page views and user engagement. A dewitt delivers community blog, www.dewittdelivers.com, and a weekly email, "what's happening in dewitt" goes to 1,500+ people. A local job posting ability is promoted and successfully used, gathering nearly 1,500 website views in the past year. Several holiday events were coordinated by the dcdc including a hometown christmas weekend, santa's arrival, and a volunteer led effort to decorate the community for the holidays.”
