Activity 2

Dubuque community y youth and teen programs give kids good role models to help them develop self esteem and good values, including cooperation, respect, good citizenship, and a strong work ethic. Through an asset-based approach, safe and constructive environments are created which empowers youth to strengthen their relationships with their families and community. "at risk youths" are served each year with education programs, support services, and life skills in training. Our teen center and programming provides a safe and nurturing environment for character development that emphasizes caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Many programs are provided at no cost, so a young person's economic circumstances are not a barrier to participation.the dubuque community y camping program provides a lasting experience of personal enrichment. Our day camps offer adventure and learning activities that provide challenge and promote spiritual awareness, mental development, physical well being, social growth and self respect. Campers develop self-confidence, independence, and respect for other's unique differences.

Activity 3

The domestic violence program provides safe and confidential services and shelter for abused women and their children. All services are free. If someone is leaving an abusive relationship and is in need of a safe and confidential place to stay, our 24-hour shelter is available to that individual and their children. A crisis and information line is available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. The domestic violence service area is dubuque county.
