“Secular student alliance is a membership organization. Any student or non student is welcomed and encouraged to join.”

“The board of directors forms a nominating committee annually. Any organizational members may self nominate for addition to the slate of candidates presented to the board of directors by the nominating committee. All current members of the board of directors not up for re-election may vote on candidates from this slate for election to the board of directors.”

“The board of directors now consists of 12 seats with staggered four year terms plus two year terms which are reserved for people who are current high school or undergraduate students, or have earned a bachelors or associates degree in the last two years and six months”

“The organization's 990 is prepared by an independent cpa firm and then reviewed by the organization's executive director. After the executive director's review, the organization provides a copy of the form 990 to the board of directors for review before submission.”

“Board members sign an annual conflict of interest disclosure and are mandated to disclose.”

“The executive director's compensation is determined by a formal annual review process conducted by the board. The review is based on comparative executive director compensation from similar organizations.”

“The executive director consults external sources for comparative salary data on other positions prior to hiring.”
