“Any Minnesota educational system, school district, educational institution, association of institutions, nonprofit organization, corporation or individual, which subscribes, and is committed to the purpose of the MNEEP, shall be eligible for membership. All members will be full members of MNEEP. Each full member shall have one vote on all issues at each annual meeting of the membership. An eligible organization or individual becomes a member of MNEEP upon being accepted as such by action of the Board and payment of the required fees.”

IRS990/Desc0Advocacy and Convening - MNEEP translates the outcomes of its research and convening into action by informing various decision makers of students, parents and community expectations and of objective data-informed policies. MNEEP staff have been advisors on key policy projects including: the MNSCU system's Diversity Initiative, Growth and Justice's "Smart Investments, Organizing Apprenticeship Project's "Legislative Report Card on Race Equity and the MN P-20 Council. MNEEP has been instrumental in advocating on behalf of communities of color in the State of Minnesota's NCLB Waiver which established growth measures for reducing the "achievement gap," i.e. racial disparities in academic outcomes. MNEEP's Education Race Equity Conference, a biannual gathering exploring best practices in educating students of color, is well known and heavily attended by community advocates, educators and leaders from across the state. The February 2016 conference had over 400 Minnesotans engaged in several educational best practices workshops delivered by local schools, colleges and community based organizations. MNEEP surveys showed that overwhelmingly respondents learned something new from sessions that can be applied to their education settings.
