Activity 2

Vocational rehabiliation:under vocational rehabilitation, os provides vocational assessments, job development, and job retention for clients working towards or who have secured independent employment in the community. During the vocational assessments, an os staff member evaluates a client's work skills at a variety of worksites in their community. For this assessment, the os staff member is able to make qualified recommendations for future employment opportunities and supports needed for that particular client. Clients in job development, work 1:1 with an os staff member to secure a job position in the community. The os staff member assists in job searching, resume writing, filling out applications, and job interviews. Finally, during job retention, the os staff member continues to assist with job skills, social skills, and acting as a liaison for the client and his/her employer. Currently, clients placed in a job earn an average of $293 per month. Ninety-three percent of clients and stakeholders report that they are satisfied with our services.

Activity 3

Extended employment:under extended employment, clients receive a combination of the aforementioned services. Clients receiving these services can work both in work teams as well as independently in the community. Ideally, os staff members assist these clients in career paths, by starting out in a work team with eventual movement towards working independently. Ninety-six percent of extended employment clients and stakeholders report that they are satisfied with our services.
