Activity 2

The st cloud area family ymca works in partnership with many community non-profits and schools by providing day passes for their participants/members to the ymca facilities. Their participation in ymca programs and facilities promotes social interaction, overall health, builds self-esteem and develops social networking relationships. Some of these collaborations include district 742 schools, boy and girl scouts, boys and girls clubs, place of hope, opportunity manor, journey home, northway group home, focus 12, new beginnings, anna marie's, big brothers/big sisters and various preschool, head start and early childhood programs.

Activity 3

The supervised visitation and exchanges program provides families who are court ordered to have supervised visitations with a positve, healthy environment in which to interact, offering them a place where family vulnerability is reduced. The ymca is a safe environment for these exchanges/visits and offers more than a courthouse or attorney's office. Fractured families may have court ordered visitations to ensure the best experience for any child and family member involved. Non-custodial parents, or extended family members, are allowed to visit with their children in a neutral, controlled condition for a set period of time promoting positive interactions through health and wellness for youth development, for healthy living and for social responsibility. We serve court-ordered cases from counties throughout the state as well as many private cases. All cases are supervised by social workers. Many of these parents/families cannot afford the services of social workers and the cost of the supervision required for the visits, so we provide financial assistance to them. Seventy percent of all participants in court-ordered private visitations receive financial assistance. During 2012, 1,407 visits and 273 exchanges were provided.
