Updated conflict of interest statements are secured from each board member annually. If any member checks that a conflict exists, the governance committee reviews the situation in depth and updates the full board, who makes a determination as to whether or not there truly is a conflict and takes appropriate action if necessary.

In 2015 the organization contracted with payscale services to determine comparable data and compensation practices. The board approved an agency wide 2.5% salary increase effective januarey 2016 and in july 2016 wages were increased by another 1.8% due to the headstart cola adjustment. For fiscal year 2018 the board approved another 1% cola increase.

HEAD START IS UNIQUE IN THAT IT OFFERS A TWO GENERATION APPROACH WHEN WORKING DIRECTLY WITH FAMILIES. THE FOCUS IS ON HELPING YOUNG CHILDREN DEVELOP THE EARLY LITERACY AND MATH SKILLS ALONG WITH THE SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL GROWTH TO BE SUCCESSFUL UPON KINDERGARTEN ENTRY. 99% OF OUR FAMILIES RECEIVED PARENTING INFORMATION. ALL ENROLLED CHILDREN HAVE COMPLETED MEDICAL AND DENTAL EXAMS AND ARE UP-TO DATE WITH IMMUNIZATIONS. OVERALL, PARENTS ARE SATISFIED WITH THE PROGRAM OPTIONS OFFERED TO OUR COMMUNITY.
