If a conflict that may affect the daily or long-term operations of the organization is identified, either the conflict is removed or the person is asked to no longer serve in such capacity. If a conflict is noted pertaining to an employee, that person will not serve or sit on committees that pertain to personnel issues. To ensure the organization operates in a manner consistent with charitable purposes and does not engage in activities that could jeopardize its tax-exempt status, each director and employee must annually sign a statement that affirms that such person has received a copy of the conflict of interest policy, has read and understands the policy, and has agreed to comply with the policy.”
