Mission

Eri practices and promotes innovative services that advance employment opportunities, support personal choices, and enhance the well-being of individuals with disabilities across wisconsin.

Major Activities

Activity 2
Ticket to work is a program that supports workers with disabilities to maintain long-term employment and confidently leave social security benefits. The ticket to work program is funded by the social security administration (ssa) and is available to to people ages 18-64 who receive disability related benefits. In 2012 the eri ticket to work program served approximately 60 ticket holders who have a goal to move off of ssa benefits. 65% of our ticket holders moved off of benefits in 2012 with our assistance and several are high level earners.
Activity 3
The social security administration is conducting the benefits offset national demonstraton (bond) project to see if making cetain changes in the social security disability insurance rules will help beneficiaries in their efforts to return to work. Through bond, ssa will allow beneficiaries to keep more of their ssdi benefits as their ability to earn more increases. One aspect of bond is enhanced work incentive counseling (ewic) which involves combining employment counseling with extensive benefits couseling. Eri is the subcontractor for the ewic component of bond in wisconsin. Four eri staff, and three staff from other agencies contracting with eri, will provide ewic services to approximately 300 beneficiairies over the 5 years that bond is in operation.
