They are also required to report any potential conflict based on the policy's definitions. All employees must return their reports to the human resource department who presents them to the cfo for review and interpretation. It is a condition of employment to respond to the policy annually, therefore, 100% response is accomplished. In addition, a related party and conflict of interest questionnaire is also provided to every board member for review and return to the school.”

“The university has received a determination letter from the internal revenue service indicating that it is a tax-exempt organization as provided for in section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and is exempt from federal and state income taxes, except for taxes pertaining to unrelated business income. No provision has been made for income taxes in the accompanying consolidated financial statements because the university does not have a significant amount of unrelated business income. The university addresses the determination of whether tax benefits claimed on a tax return should be recorded in the consolidated financial statements. Under current accounting guidance, the university may recognize the tax benefit from an uncertain tax position only if there is substantial authority that the tax position will be sustained on examination by taxing authorities, based on the technical merit of the position. Examples of tax positions include the tax-exempt status of the university and various positions related to the potential sources of unrelated business taxable income. There were no significant unrecognized tax expenses identified or recorded as liabilities during the fiscal years 2019 and 2018. Open tax years subject to examination by the u.s. And state taxing authorities are for the fiscal years ending june 30, 2016 to 2018, which statutes expire in 2020 to 2022. Open tax years subject to examination by state tax authorities are fiscal years ending june 30, 2015 to 2018, which expire 2020 to 2023.”
