Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The association is generally exempt from federal income taxes under the provisions of section 501(c)(6) of the internal revenue code (irc). Income, which is not related to exempt purposes, less applicable deductions, is subject to income taxes. Effective january 1, 2018, the association is now subject to unrelated business income tax on certain pretax benefits and certain salary levels of employees. Income tax expense for the year ended december 31, 2018 was insignificant. Management evaluated the association's tax positions and concluded that the association has taken no uncertain tax positions that require adjustment to the financial statements.
