Although reimbursement for services rendered is critical to the operation and stability of mrh, it is recognized that not all individuals possess the ability to purchase essential medical services. Therefore, in keeping with this hospital's commitment to serve all members of its community, free care and/or subsidized care, care provided to persons covered by government programs below cost, and health activities and programs to support the community's health status will be considered where the need and/or the individual's inability to pay co-exist. These activities include acute, emergency and outpatient services in addition to wellness programs, community education programs, and special programs for the elderly, handicapped, medically under-served, and a variety of broad community support activities.

“Uncollectable bad debts are estimated by the use of the allowance method. Bad debts for the years ending june 30, 2016 and 2015 amounted to 933,384 and 1,550,319, respectively. IN THE LAST FISCAL YEAR, THE NON-REIMBURSED VALUE OF PROVIDING CARE TO ALL OF MRH'S PATIENTS WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,221,865 REPRESENTING A WRITE-DOWN OF 38.2 PERCENT OF THE HOSPITAL'S CHARGES, INCLUDING CHARITY CARE EXPENSES OF 8,213. ADDITIONALLY, THE HOSPITAL'S ALLOWANCE FOR UNCOLLECTABLE BAD DEBTS ARE ESTIMATED BY THE USE OF THE ALLOWANCE METHOD. BAD DEBTS FOR THE YEARS ENDING JUNE 30, 2016 AND 2015 AMOUNTED TO 933,384 AND 1,550,319, RESPECTIVELY.
