Activity 2

Developmental disability services. Under the program, services are provided to children and adults with developmental disabilities. Judson center believes people with developmental disabilities reach their maximum potential in a loving and safe environment. We have created such environments by providing six group homes for adults with developmental disabilities. Respite care, another one of our programs, provides temporary relief to parents and caregivers of children and adults who are medically fragile or have developmental disabilities by providing the parents and caregivers with much needed breaks from the day-to-day stresses that come with caring for a child or an adult with a developmental disability or physical impairment. Our employment program deconstructs the myth that individuals with developmental disabilities are unable to participate and be successful in a competitive job market. This program helps adults with disabilities obtain gainful employment in the community. Being employed enhances their degree of independence, personal choice, and community involvement. Through our independence living programs adults with developmental disabilities and mental illness have the opportunity to live in their own apartments or homes. After determining the level of support and supervision needed, we guide and support their transition from dependence to independence. 52 adults with disabilities were able to live as independently as possible. 128 adults with disabilities were given the chance to work in the community. 187 families received 4,056 days of loving respite care for a family member with a disability.

Activity 3

Autism. Under the program, services are provided to children and adults with autism. Judson center's autism connections offers a wide range of educational, therapeutic and support services designed to promote independence and maximize potential for children, teens and adults with autism spectrum disorder. We have a full menu of services available in our main offices, located in royal oak and ann arbor. We also offer various services in our satellite locations in warren, howell, walled lake and grosse pointe. 545 individuals received services at autism connections. 8 children received intensive aba treatment. 143 behavior consultation sessions were provided for families. 954 individual treatment sessions were provided to individuals with asd and family members. 410 sessions of summer program were provided to 131 individual consumers with asd. 281 support services were provided. 25 trainings on autism were provided to local families and professionals.
