Activity 2

Admissions mcf conducts several programs to attract students to member campuses to prepare for careers in michigan and beyond. Each fall, mcf hosts a college fair for high school guidance counselors, community college transfer advisers and home school counselors to create a greater awareness of the value, affordability and educational opportunities at mcf institutions. Programs such as the nationally recognized third 90 network engages mcf undergraduates and faculty with high school students statewide in high level environmental science projects, preparing them for college and career success.

Activity 3

Career development working with some of michigan's largest employers, mcf develops and manages programs to retain graduates in the state's workforce and prepare for career success. Activities range from commissioning original research to document corporate hiring needs and best rpactice preparation of recent college graduates, to promoting the benefits of michigan work and lifestyle opportunities on member campuses. A signature corporate concierge connection program provides customized access for michigan business to possible interns and employees. A campus marketing campaign, think michigan, has been launched to help inform perceptions and create enthusiasm for the quality of life and career options available in michigan's major cities. Each of these initiatives is informed by market research and supported by a student board comprised of one presidentially slected student from each mcf member campus (the van andel millennial board).
