Mission

Safehaven empowers victims of intimate partner violence to live as survivors. The vision of safehaven is of a world where every adult and child may live free from intimate partner violence, housed stably and safely, with adequate financial resources.

Coburn place safehaven ii, inc. (safehaven) was formed as an indiana not-for-profit organization on january 8, 2003 and is organized and shall be operated exclusively for charitable purposes, which include support and performance of certain charitable functions relating to adult victims of domestic violence and their children.safehaven operates out of a 35 unit transitional housing facility for victims of domestic violence that does business as coburn place, located in indianapolis, indiana. Safehaven supports the operations of coburn place which serves adult victims of intimate partner violence, and their dependents, who are low-income and are homeless because of intimate partner violence. Coburn place offers apartment homes with private kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms all on-site within a gated and secure facility. Prior to the finalization of the audit, a copy of the audited financial statements is given to all of the board members for their comments. When the audited financial statements are up for bid, the board discusses the relationship with the current firm and makes a determination as to whether to maintain this relationship or change to a new firm.

The primary purpose of the fund shall be to provide support for the corporation to carry out its role and mission.

PART X, LINE 2:

The corporation is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and state income tax and has been classified as an other than private foundation. Accordingly, no provision for federal and state taxes on revenue and income has been recognized in the accompanying financial statements.
