“Bylaws were amended as follows article viii section 10 international treasurer. The purpose of this amendment is to clarify and supplement the timing and content of reports to be prepared and submitted by the treasurer. It follows general accounting principles. Reports include an annual financial report annual report for the end of each calendar year, a budget annual budget for each ensuing year, and financial statements of revenues and expenditures prior to each business meeting. This bylaw amendment is proposed by the current treasurer. Article xviii policy resolutions new provision. The purpose of this proposed new provision is to provide a more formal framework for the board of governors to make policy through resolution. Such policies do not require the rigidity, rise to the level, or are too lengthy to be considered appropriate for the by laws. This amendment is proposed by the bylaws committee.”

“An active member pays lambda alpha and local chapter dues. An active member at-large pays lambda alpha at-large dues. A retired member is in fact retired, but if they wish to do so may continue to have active member status by paying active member dues. An emeritus member has no dues required and the following attributes - maintained active status for twenty 20 years, served in leadership positions at the chapter or international level, retired from professional work associated with land economics, and been nominated and voted in for such status level. An international fellow of lambda alpha is an active member whose efforts have significantly advanced the purposes, organization, or growth of lambda alpha. Only the international board of governors shall confer fellowship and no more than two fellowships shall be conferred in each calendar year. The title of international fellow is additive to any other category of membership except honorary. There shall be no international or chapter dues required for an international fellow of lamda alpha.”

“Each active member shall be eligible to be nominated and elected to any international office. These bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds 2/3 vote of the international board of governors, provided that written notice of the substance of the proposed amendment has been sent to each member of the board at least sixty 60 days prior to the meeting of the board at which the amendment is to be considered. Upon receipt of any such notice the president of each local chapter shall promptly mail a copy of such notice to each member of their local chapter board of directors.”

“Treasurer of the organization distributes a pdf copy of 990 return to all board members for a review and comment prior to being filed.”

“Each board and committee board must annually notify the organization of any conflict of interest. If there is a discussion of selecting or engaging a vendor or service provider, all in attendance are asked to recuse themselves from this discussion if there could be a perceived conflict.”

“The board reviews the compensation for all vendors and consultants by comparing their compensation to the compensation of individuals in like positions in comparable organizations. Currently, all directors are volunteers.”

“The organization will provide in a timely manner, financial statements and governing documents including its conflict of interest policies when requested in writing or in person.”

“The organization has a finance committee that is responsible for the selection of an independent accountant to perform an annual review and oversees this process during its completion”
