“Pilot hill, inc is a community driven effort to turn a dream into reality. In july 2020, through a collaborative effort by albany county citizens, the university of wyoming, and the wyoming office of state lands and investments, thousands of acres of private land on pilot hill were preserved. These acres, immediately adjacent to laramie, create a unique community resource on pilot hill that prevents future development in this area, protects the casper aquifer, and conserves wildlife habitat. Pilot hill also supports public access to open spaces for recreational and educational opportunities. In 2024 the organization completed 8 miles of trail and repaired and replaced perimter fencing and gates.”
