Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11

The executive director reviews the form 990 to check the accuracy of specific totals, that international donations are represented, face validity, etc. Then the form 990 is given to the board for approval before filing with the internal revenue service.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Annually, board members sign the conflict policy and identify any conflicts. Any noted conflicts are monitored.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization is exempt from federal and state income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. U.s. Gaap requires management to evaluate tax positions taken by the organization and recognize a tax liability if the organization has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by the internal revenue service. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken by the organization and has concluded that as of june 30, 2015, there were no uncertain positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability or disclosure in the financial statements. The organization believes it is no longer subject to income tax examinations for years prior to fiscal year 2012.
