Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 2

Willie nelson and lana nelson are father and daughter.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8B

There were no committee meetings held in 2014.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11

After management review and approval, the 990 is emailed to the board of directors for approval, which is confirmed through email. We also provide hard copies of the 990 for the board of directors.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Board and management practice ongoing vigilance to protect against potential conflicts of interest. If a potential conflict or known conflict arises, appropriate measures are taken including conferring with farm aid's attorney as necessary.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

A committee comprised of two board members reviews the executive director's compensation annually. Each employee receives a cost of living salary increase, to be waived only in the event of severe organizational financial difficulty. Expansion of job description will be the determining factor in making other salary increases. The executive director makes all final salary determinations.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

Governing documents and conflict of interest policy are made available upon request. Financial statements are available on our website, and are made available upon request.
