FORM 990, PART XII, LINE 2C:

The process has not changed from the prior year.

Form 990, Part III Line 1

Neighbors helping neighbors 16,595 individuals reached 1,160 neighbors volunteered 45,657 hours our tagline truly does say it all - neighbors helping neighbors. In 1975, people's resource center was started by a group of concerned residents who wanted to bring neighbors together to address and prevent hunger. They handed out bags of groceries through the basement window of a house in wheaton. Over four decades of community building, prc has grown into a multiservice agency focused on interwoven services and tools that support and strengthen more than 7,000 families each year. Our guests can access fresh produce, lean proteins, nutritious grains and household items in person and at curbside as well as through online ordering for pick-up at a later time and delivery. In 45 years of operating food access programs, we have worked with our community to understand and limit the obstacles they face to reaching their potential. As a result, our food access programs have become a critical bridge to other programs such as computer training and technology access, financial assistance, social services support, clothing, job search mentoring, art enrichment, and educational programming. All prc services are provided at no cost to dupage county residents. Our programs are designed for lower-income neighbors and are made possible by the generous support of the community through volunteering, in-kind donations and financial support. Prc connects neighbors to services and opportunities that can support their wellbeing and stability, especially in times of crisis. Since march 2020, the covid-19 pandemic has created deep uncertainty for thousands of families across dupage county. Prc remains focused on keeping our community safe while also providing essential services, especially food and emergency financial assistance. Emergency services food pantry staple pantry goods | fresh produce | frozen meats | dairy products | household necessities social services homeless prevention | financial assistance | referrals clothes closet clothing | shoes | coats as we begin to understand what an equitable recovery looks like for our community, we know our areas of greatest need will change, from emergency services and job assistance to computer training and even art classes as people look to heal and engage with others. Empowerment services job assistance job coaching | job readiness workshops | resume review computer training basic digital literacy | microsoft office specialist certification computer access refurbished computers | computer repair adult learning & literacy program literacy classes | tutoring | summer science | ell | hse | citizenship art program adult art classes | kids art classes as a leader and a trusted service organization, prc connects neighbors to the tools and resources they need to thrive. Our dedicated team of volunteers forms our foundation of service. Over the coming year, we will continue to provide our community with vital services as safely as possible and guide our collective healing so we can work towards a brighter, stronger future for all. The people's resource center community exists to respond to basic human needs, promote dignity and justice, and create a future of hope and opportunity for the residents of dupage county, illinois.
