Activity 2

Anonymous donations enabled a.r.t. To establish the julie reynolds shaw memorial artist position to honor former board member julie reynolds shaw who passed away in 2005. This appointment allows one, active a.r.t. Artist per year to take a two-month paid sabbatical during which they realize a proposed project which will impact both a school community and their practice as an artist. Annually, a request for proposals is distributed to a.r.t. Artists for the julie reynolds shaw memorial artist position. A committee of arts education professionals is assembled and selects the artist from the proposals submitted.

Activity 3

Each year, schools purchase from a.r.t. About 500 days of programming. This includes 8 session residencies, 1 to 2 day student, teacher, and parent workshops, after-school programs, and mural and mosaic programs. All programs help develop an understanding of art and culture, relating to the core curriculum and include a creative hands-on art-making component.
