Activity 2

Simon youth scholarships are awarded to simon youth academy graduates and students in every community that is home to a simon property. The awards are primarily targeted at students who would be the first in their families to attend post-secondary education institutions, including 2-year vocational and technical schools and 4-year colleges. Recipients, who are selected by a third-party administrator, also are chosen based on financial need, academic performance, leadership skills, school participation, and community activities.

Activity 3

Syf best practices conference is a networking event for syf school district partners and representatives from other nationwide districts, which are working to increase graduation rates and help students earn their high school diplomas. While each simon youth academy operates under the distinct guidelines of their home school district(s), the conference is an opportunity to share practices and policies that can benefit the entire syf network of academies. The best practices conference is hosted in conjunction with a leading national education conference, giving academy administrators and teachers the opportunity for further professional development beyond syf sponsored lectures and sessions.
