Compensation for the ceo is determined in consultation with a comparability survey conducted by the indiana council of community mental health centers for all mental health centers in the state of indiana. Per board policy, a review of the ceo's contract is conducted periodically and is documented in minutes maintained by the governing board.

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 15B

The organization's ceo and human resource director determine the salary range provided for the organization's medical director. This determination is based on comparability data provided by the indiana council of community mental health centers and is the result of a survey of all mental health centers in the state of indiana. General market conditions may also contribute to the negotiated salary amount. The compensation is set in a signed, written contract.

Financial Statement Notes

Schedule D, Page 2, Part V, Line 4

The purpose of the organization's endowment funds are to provide a stream of interest income for future capital or program development.

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

Management of northeastern center, inc. Has considered the guidance of fin 48 and has determined that the organization has no uncertain tax positions. The following is from the footnotes of the financial statements. Northeastern center, inc. Is a tax-exempt not-for-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Therefore, no provision for income tax is included in the financial statements. The accounting standard which provides guidance on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes addresses the determination of whether tax benefits claimed or expected to be claimed on a tax return should be recorded in the financial statements. Under this guidance, the center may recognize the tax benefit from an uncertain tax position only if it is more likely than not that the tax position will be sustained on examination by taxing authorities, based on the technical merits of the position. Examples of tax positions include the tax-exempt status of the center and various positions related to the potential sources of unrelated business taxable income (ubit). The tax benefits recognized in the financial statements from such a position are measured based on the largest benefit that has a greater than 50 percent likelihood of being realized upon ultimate settlement. There were no unrecognized tax benefits identified or recorded as liabilities for the years ended june 30, 2015 and 2014. The center files forms 990 in the u.s. Federal jurisdiction and the state of indiana. The center is generally no longer subject to examination by the internal revenue service for years before 2012.
