Activity 2

Pathfinder Kids Kampus, the child care division of Pathfinder Services was created in 1990 to provide an integrated center for all children in Huntington County. Pathfinder Kids Kampus focuses on the whole child and engages in partnerships to provide supports to families. 76 child enrollments are funded through Early Head Start which is offered for expectant mothers and children birth to 3, while 85 children are served in child care. Kindergarten readiness, language development and creative play are encouraged with 34 children in Premier Preschool. Pathfinder Kids Kampus is a Level 3 Paths to QUALITY Provider and is the only licensed child care center in Huntington County. Pathfinder Kids Kampus can be found on the web at www.kidskampus.org

Activity 3

Pathfinder Community Connections is the community development division of Pathfinder Services and was created in 1997. Pathfinder Community Connections is a certified NeighborWorks HomeOwnership Center with offices in Huntington and Fort Wayne. The division guides potential home buyers through the entire process of pre-purchase education, financial fitness, homebuyer education, loan packaging and closing, post-purchase counseling and foreclosure prevention if needed. 109 families fulfilled their dream of home ownership with the help of Pathfinder Community Connections. Community building occurs through acquiring and rehabilitating homes as well as owner occupied rehabilitation, community assessments and organization of neighborhood activites. Also, 1,051 free tax returns were prepared, 54 families obtained use car loans, and 85 Individual Development Account holders were served by Pathfinder Community Connections.
