Mission

Goodwill industries of northwest ohio is a nonprofit organization providing assessment, job training, and placement that assists people with disabilities and other work-related disadvantages to become independent. Goodwill accomplishes this mission by operating retail stores and other business within the community to provide on-the-job training and fund goodwill's programs

Executive committee - the executive committee shall be responsible for all aspects of the corporation's long-range planning, including, but not limited to, strategic and financial planning and fund development. Mission services - reviews and oversees all workforce development matters. Reviews and oversees marketing related to the mission of the corporation. Finance and endowment - reviews and oversees all financial matters of the corporation, including budget information, financial monitoring and non-employee benefit related insurance. Reviews and oversees the endowment fund. Operations - reviews and oversees all matters affecting the retail operations, contract operations and any new areas of operation, as well as related marketing and fundraising. Human resources - reviews and oversees the human resources function of the corporation, as well as related marketing. Nominating and code of regulations - secures persons willing to serve as trustees and officers. Responsible for governance, including but not limited to reviewing and updating, with necessary approval, the code of regulations. Planning - responsible for all aspects of strategic and continuous planning for the corporation.

The chairperson of the board of directors is responsible for evaluating and determining the compensation of the ceo. This person uses two sources, the other members of the executive committee and the yearly executives and direct reports compensation survey from goodwill industries international. This survey gives statistical analysis of like sized goodwills across the country. The decision is documented by the chairperson's signature on the ceo's evaluation and payroll action form. The key employees, departmental directors, are evaluated by the ceo. Compensations are determined by the direct reports section of the yearly compensation survey done by goodwill industries international. As with the ceo, statistics are based on liked sized goodwills across the country and categorically fall within the survey range. The board chairperson and the executive committee are also informed by the survey and results and ceo recommendations.
