Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 12C

It is the responsibility of any director to notify the board chair of a potential conflict of interest, whether real or perceived annually. Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 15A

The process of determining compensation of the executive director includes the following elements; review and approval, use of data as to comparable compensation, and contemporaneous documentation and recordkeeping. The compensation of the executive director is reviewed and approved by the board of directors of the ohio domestic violence network on an annual basis. Persons with conflicts of interest with respect to the compensation arrangement at issue are not involved in this review and approval. The compensation of the executive director is reviewed and approved using data as to comparable compensation for similarly qualified persons in functionally comparable positions at similarly situated organizations, such as the national network to end violence salary survey of state coalition staff. There is also contemporaneous documentation and recordkeeping with respect to the deliberations and decisions regarding the compensation arrangement that are made by the board of directors in executive session. Decisions are recorded in the minutes of the ohio domestic violence network board of directors meetings.

FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

Started in 1989, odvn mobilizes a statewide voice on domestic violence and promotes quality services for survivors that focus on safety and self- determination. (odvn) advances the principle that all people have the right to an oppression and violence-free life; fosters changes in our economic, social and political systems and brings leadership, expertise and best practices to community programs.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

Odvn provides training, technical assistance and best practice support to 72 member programs that include 59 domestic violence shelters and 13 non- residential dv programs including culturally specific organizations. Programs served more than 70,000 women, men and children in 2018. Most survivors are female, low-income and have children. Odvn is the leading resource for domestic violence issues in ohio and is a member of the national network to end domestic violence (nnedv). Odvn provides leading edge research and best practice resources to member programs through training, technical assistance, a resource center, public policy information, toll-free information/referral line, network news and supportive services. Odvn provides the only comprehensive training institute in ohio for front-line advocates who provide services to domestic violence survivors. In 2019, a total of 128 trainings were offered reaching 4,451 individuals from local programs shelters, culturally specific organizations, and community agencies. Odvn offers a variety of training programs on topics such as improving the medical response to domestic in the workplace. Technical assistance provided by odvn includes on-site and telephone consultation to domestic violence providers and allied professionals.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4B

Odvn prevention programs include the ohio men's action network (ohman) and the new playbook, an evidence-informed signature training. These programs work to transform individuals and communities to bring an end to domestic violence. Over the last three years, odvn has worked with researchers at the ohio state university to improve services for survivors with partner-inflicted brain injuries (pibi) and is establishing the center on partner inflicted brain injury. Odvn is a lead partner in the linking systems of care for ohio's youth federal demonstration project, a collaborative effort to improve responses to ohio's youngest victims of traumatic crimes. Odvn and the ohio attorney general's office are working with 74 child-serving organizations on the 1.5 million project.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4C

Odvn legal assistance program helps more than 500 survivors annually with a wide range of legal services to help them and their children build a safer life. Odvn's legal program assists survivors whose income is at or below 225% of the federal poverty level and who cannot be assisted by other legal aid programs. Odvn contracts with private attorneys throughout ohio who work for a reduced fee to help survivors to seek and enforce protection orders, divorce, child custody and visitation issues. The attorneys also assist with landlord issues, employment and immigration help. Odvn provides a relocation assistance program, that is the only back up for local programs, when they need to move domestic violence survivors and their children to safety. In 2019, odvn provided 529 of surviviors with an average of 850 in direct assistance for security deposts, utilities, transporation, and moving expenses. In most cases, the life of the victim or live of their children had been threatended by the abuser. Additionally, odvn provides local programs with youth advocacy and trauma informed services to care for children who have witnessed domestic violence.
